§ 21.46.040. Clear view triangle.

    Description . A clear view triangle is a triangle of land at an intersection that must remain clear for traffic visibility. A clear view triangle shall be formed by finding the point of the intersecting curb lines then measuring the horizontal sight clearance distance along each curb line, then connecting the two to form the hypotenuse of the triangle.

    B.

    Controlled intersection . If an intersection has a stop sign or traffic signal in any direction, the horizontal sight clearance for the approach with the control is 15 feet and the horizontal distance for the approach without a control is 60 feet.

    C.

    Uncontrolled intersection . If an intersection has no control or only a yield, the horizontal sight clearance for every approach is 40 feet.

    D.

    Alleys and driveways . The horizontal sight clearance for an alley or driveway is 15 feet. The horizontal sight clearance for the intersecting street is 60 feet.
